Who is James Sims?

James Sims launched his news career as a television and radio reporter in the United States Air Force, spending a few years filing broadcast stories in South Korea.  After getting out of the military, he returned to his hometown of Los Angeles and began working for various radio stations as an on-air host and news producer.

Having grown up in a working Hollywood family, his interests were always rooted in entertainment, so he landed a gig with “Entertainment Tonight/The Insider.” Later, James started working as a features freelance writer for the Hollywood Reporter.

Next up was a senior editor position with an online news site, BroadwayWorld.com.  All the while he was earning a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from California State University, Northridge.

After spending four years working full-time and earning an undergraduate degree, James moved to New York City where he earned a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Besides his continued freelance work for BroadwayWorld.com, he also is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post, Fancast.com and TheWrap.com.  Oh yes, and to keep his portfolio diverse, he’s working as the Senior New Media Specialist at the American Museum of Natural History.
