Zachary Quinto TwitPic Heard Around the Web

Have I finally turned into a creature so vile that I typically can’t stand to look at? The dreaded and oh-so-annoying Hollywood enemy, the paparazzi. If you happen to spot a picture of ‘Heroes‘ and ‘Star Trek’ star Zachary Quinto watching U2′s concert in Los Angeles last week and thought, “who would snap such an unwelcome photo of a celebrity?” I will man up and admit that it was me. (PopWrap | Just Jared | Zachary-Kristen.com | Zach-Quinto.net | DailyZQPhoto)

Yes, the man who has no desire to ever be a celebrity hound, nonchalantly uploaded a couple photos of Quinto and an unnamed “guy pal” to Twitter. And that photo wound up hitting the web before the concert was out.

At first I felt bad about it and wondered if Quinto would check his iPhone — which he was using to take photos of the concert — and see a picture of his backside then realize it was me that took it. That would have been an awkward glance back.

Seeing how I already invaded Qunito’s privacy with a Twitpic or two, I won’t reveal whether or not I saw him partaking in a little something that was getting passed around by the surrounding concertgoers. I still need to get the smell out of my jacket.

On a side note, congratulations to U2 for making YouTube history with the most watched streaming event on the video hosting website. As always, the concert was amazing — especially live and in person.

‘Bones’ Star Eric Millegan Outs Self as Bipolar

ericmilleganFans of Fox‘s hit show ‘Bones‘ probably remember Eric Millegan as the awkward Zack Addy, a co-worker of Dr. Brennan with a penchant for serial killing. Millegan’s character turned out to be working for a cannibal before getting caught in the act. No matter the gruesome nature of his role on ‘Bones,’ Millegan was a rather fun guy to be around. I had the pleasure interviewing him right before his Los Angeles cabaret debut back in 2007 and was impressed with his musical theatre roots.

I’m now impressed more so with Millegan after reading an interview the actor did for The Huffington Post in which he candidly talks about his rapid-cycling bipolar disorder. The name along sounds frightening. It turns out Millegan has been struggling with this illness since his move to Los Angeles.

There were times when I was going through hell inside, but people on the outside didn’t necessarily notice. [So], I was able to press forward. I remember at the up-fronts for ‘Bones’ the very first season, I was going through a nasty episode. With me, everything gets very, very quick in my chest, everything really hurts, and everything’s really fast, and I was on the verge of tears, and I even had to excuse myself so I could leave and cry my eyes out.

Millegan also took to YouTube and outed himself as a bipolar sufferer with two video confessionals.

Since my interview with Millegan ran long before Sofa Snark launched I thought it would be the right moment to post that video feature. So, here’s the video I shot of Millegan talking about his musical theatre background, moving out to Los Angeles for ‘Bones’ and singing cabaret. Make sure to watch all the way through for clips of his performance.

Carrie Fisher Drinks Her Way to Broadway

fisher02Drugs, booze, divorces and affairs might sound like a run of the mill Jerry Springer episode, but even the rich and famous succumb to such pitfalls in Tinseltown, and when you’re the child of a movie star mother and famed crooner father, every vice runs the risk of making headlines. How does a famous person cope with a litany of personal disasters and addictions? They do what every other actor seems busy with these days – put on a one-person show and welcome the world into your sordid past with open arms.

Hollywood celebrities beware, Carrie Fisher is on the loose and taking no prisoners in her one-woman tour de force, ‘Wishful Drinking,’ now playing on Broadway at Roundabout Theatre’s Studio 54.

Fisher, most recognizable from her turn as the bun-haired princess in Star Wars, has taken to the stage to tell a tale, or three, of her ups and mostly downs over the last 50 years, and shines brighter than any star in George Lucas‘ faraway galaxy. Not one to hold punches or even soften the blow, Fisher titillates with gossip from her past befit for the juiciest of tabloids.

“A lot of this stuff is over the top, but you can’t imagine what I’m leaving out,” says Fisher before jumping back into stories of celebrity inbreeding and father-daughter drug binges. Having spent most of her life in the public eye, Fisher has hit rock bottom and lived to tell about it, but don’t call her a survivor, as she is quick to point out it’s a trivial word always used in rehab.

And she is certainly no stranger to rehab, or mental hospitals for that matter, which she explicitly makes clear in her opening line, “I’m Carrie Fisher, and I’m an alcoholic, and this is a true story.”

Kicking off this riotous evening, Fisher serenades with a quaint tune, “Happy Days Are Here Again,” after emerging from a star lit backdrop with a recognizable sci-fi theme.
